SURJ CAMPAIGN AND BASE BUILDING ORGANIZING TRAINING This online training is meant for people who would like an update on campaign and base building organizing in a SURJ context, have not had an organizing training before, or who are newer to the work of SURJ. Each chapter/affiliate should send a cross class or poor and working class team of 2-5 people from each chapter (if only middle class people are available let us know). This training will give a breakdown of the various organizing and campaign approaches and components that SURJ chapters and affiliates are engaged in and tools for developing skills around campaign development, bringing new white people into the work, developing leadership, maintaining accountable movement partnerships, and working for economic justice. This training will take place Mondays at 8-10 ET / 7-9 CT / 6-8 MT / 5-7 PT from May 13th to June 24th (skipping May 27th for Labor Day). SURJ COACHES AND CHAPTER LEADERS ORGANIZING TRAINING This is an online training for coaches and chapter leaders who are in positions to move chapters to a deeper and more impactful level of campaign and base building organizing. Chapter leaders should have at least 1 year experience in SURJ, have had some organizing training, have participated in a campaign, and are committed to being an organizer within SURJ for the next year. Poor and working class people of all roles in the organization are encouraged to apply. We will be covering base building skills for growing chapters, building and sustaining leaders, navigating complicated multi-racial partnerships, deepening facilitation and coaching skills, understanding racial capitalism and working for economic justice. In addition to coaches, 20 chapter leads will be accepted into this training. This training will take place Sundays at 5-7 ET / 4-6 CT / 3-5 MT / 2-4 PT from May 12th to June 23th (skipping May 26th for Labor Day).
