Thank you so much to everyone who joined us last week for the call of white against anti-Arab Racism and Islamophobia. You can listen to the recording from the call here. Much appreciation to Linda Sarsour from the Arab American Association of NY, Sarah Jawaid from PICO, Dove Kent from JFREJ and so many SURJ members from across the country for sharing your wisdom and knowledge during the call.
If you signed up to take action, here are some quick links to follow through on your commitments:
Give and ask your community to give to the Arab American Association of New York or to your local Arab or Muslim community organization.
Letter writing party- Organize love letter writing parties with appreciation notes to local or national Muslim associations or Letters to the Editor. Document and share: At your part or community conversation will you make a video in support of Muslim and Arab communities? Here is a sample script created by the Denver SURJ chapter.
Host a community conversation in your home, church, synagogue or even in public. Check out a house party organizing kit here.
Order Yard Signs. You can sign up to order yard and window signs here. All proceeds go to the Arab American Association of NY.
Please share the work you’re taking on by emailing email@example.com so we can share and inspire other white people to continue to take bold action against Islamophobia.
Have a great week and we look forward to working together for justice-
