On the Move for Racial Justice: A March and Gathering in East Greenwich.
Please join us on Sunday, Sept 20 on a Walk for Racial Justice in East Greenwich. People from across Rhode Island are mobilizing to address racism and racial injustice in our town and in our state. The event is being organized by The White Noise Collective and the Social Responsibility Committee of the Westminster Unitarian Church in response to white supremacist flyers distributed in EG earlier this summer. We are planning the walk to raise consciousness, invite engagement, and support the larger Black Lives Matter movement. We hope to invite conversation around white privilege, racial bias and systemic racism; and to talk about how white people in particular can address racial inequities, walking and working alongside our brothers and sisters who bear the brunt of racism every day.
