Writing Love Letters: No Hate in Our State (After "White Fragility" worship service/sermon)

Following our worship service (which goes from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.), we will be writing Love Letters: No Hate in Our State! We will write love letters to local or state party leadership to urge them to condemn hate and racism and support racial justice. Show up at 11:30 a.m. to join in letter-writing -- or come at 10:30 a.m. and join us for our service! The description of our May 15 worship service: "The Cure for White Fragility": About a month ago, Rev. Lara Hoke attended the conference “Revolutionary Love: Tools, Tactics, and Truth-Telling for Dismantling Racism”. (The conference was co-sponsored by the Middle Project, Transform Network, The Unitarian Universalist Association, and Auburn Seminary.) She will share some of her learnings, with a focus on the concept of "white fragility". From the conference website, "We must disrupt the narrative of white supremacy if we are to be free. We need tools, tactics, and truth-telling to dismantle racism." Please join us as we consider this important topic as part of our ongoing focus on the "Black Lives Matter" movement.
